Karen Calder is a High Performance coach, consultant and facilitator. In 2015, Karen left an Executive HR role at a Fortune 500 Company and 25 year corporate career to start her own consulting, coaching and speaking practice specializing in motivation, change and performance. Karen’s mission is to help individuals, teams and organizations “adapt, perform and thrive” in a world of constant change and achieve extraordinary results.
Karen believes that success is an inside game that requires self-awareness and a growth mindset.
Karen holds a B.Ed and Master of Continuous Education, Leadership and Change, a certificate in Neurolinguistics Programming and is an Elite High Performance Certified Coach.
When she is not teaching or coaching, Karen spends her time outdoors with her dog Bella, traveling, writing, networking and learning new things like painting, photography and yoga.
Melissa’s diverse career has always focused on supporting people to be better. In the 20 years of training and coaching individuals and teams, her absolute favourite thing to hear from colleagues and participants is “I never thought of it that way, thank you.”
Melissa’s open and encouraging manner is known for creating a fun and safe environment where everyone can learn and push themselves. In her sessions, when you’re trying out your new skills, you’ll likely hear Melissa say “You’ve got this”!
When not at the hub, Melissa continues learning through watching documentaries and reading. Spending time with her family and finding interesting places and restaurants to experience is also a passion.
Philip has always had a passion for helping people find meaning and fulfillment in their work, in whatever roles they hold. He has worked closely with senior executives, mid-level leaders and front-line employees to help them lead and work in ways that are authentic to them.
Philip’s facilitation style is engaging and inclusive, yet thought provoking. His experience includes speaking at a variety of HR / OD related seminars and conferences. He also teaches Organizational Behaviour at the Ted Rogers School of Business at Ryerson University, where his students keep him on his toes! He has a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of North Texas, and an M.A. in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa.
When not at the HUB, Philip can be found paddling his kayak on the lake or enjoying time with his family.
With over 15 years of progressive experience leading teams of all sizes, Christine discovered that her real passion is in helping other leaders find the confidence, strategies and tools they need to succeed. As a result, she made a significant career transition which allowed her to focus exclusively on elevating others. Since that time, Christine has coached and trained thousands of leaders at every level and is known for her pragmatic approach.
Christine is a dynamic facilitator of leadership development – her passion and energy will leave you feeling recharged and clear in terms of what you want to achieve. She believes that leadership jobs are demanding and complex and therefore strives to provide tools and strategies that are simple yet effective.
When she’s not at the HUB, Christine can be found in her kickboxing class or outside, enjoying the fresh air with her family.
As Lisa moved up the corporate ladder over the course of more than 20 years, she found she had fewer and fewer opportunities to be in the classroom, connecting directly with learners, than she did earlier in her career. Over the last few years, interestingly, she had the opportunity to get back into the classroom more frequently and rediscovered her love of connecting with learners. She thrives on helping participants figure out how they can and will apply their new knowledge and skills on the job and in life.
Lisa fully leverages her background as a leader and professional Leadership Coach in her work as a Lead Hub Facilitator. She “gets” the challenges that leaders face at various levels in their career, and pulls in compelling real-life examples and stories to help participants understand and relate to the various leadership concepts. Beyond the classroom, Lisa can be found heading out for an energetic walk, or planning the next travel adventure with her family.
